If you need visa sponsorship, Salvo (sendsalvo.com) applies to jobs for you and checks each employer against public USCIS H-1B approval data. You choose sponsors first, or sponsors only, and it answers the sponsorship question on every form the way you told it to. Free to start, no card.

Why a visa search is harder

Most job posts don't say if the company sponsors. You find out after you apply, or never. So people on OPT or waiting on an H-1B send far more applications than everyone else for the same few interviews, and the clock on their status keeps running.

A plain auto apply app makes this worse. It sends your resume to every job, including companies that have never sponsored anyone, and it may tick "no sponsorship needed" to get past the form. That gets you rejected later, or worse.

What Salvo does differently

A sponsor badge means the employer has sponsored before. It is not a promise they will sponsor this job. Some postings say "no sponsorship" in the text, so treat the badge as a good sign and not a guarantee.

What you set up

You can start free on Salvo. It takes a few minutes.

More applications, sooner

If you need sponsorship, it takes more applications. Salvo applies to at least 50 jobs a day for you, every day, and sends each one with a resume rewritten for that job. You see a receipt for every application.

When an employer writes back, Salvo spots the interview request in your Salvo inbox and preps you for that company: likely questions, a short briefing and a place to practice.

Sponsors first or sponsors only: which to pick

Pick sponsors only if your status ends soon and a job that can't sponsor you is no use. You'll send fewer applications, but each one goes to a company that has sponsored before.

Pick sponsors first if you have time, or if you're on OPT and some employers will hire you now and sponsor later. Salvo works through the sponsor list first, then applies to other jobs that fit your rules. Plenty of people get an interview at a company that isn't on the list yet, because it's new or small.

You can change this any day from your dashboard. The change applies to the next jobs Salvo picks.

How the sponsorship answer goes on each form

Job forms ask about visas in many ways. "Will you now or in the future require sponsorship?" "Are you legally authorized to work in the United States?" "Do you hold a valid work permit?" A yes on one and a no on another, for the same person, is the fastest way to get screened out.

Salvo keeps your two signup answers and gives the matching answer to each wording. If you said you need sponsorship, it says so, every time. If a form asks something your answers don't cover, it asks you on your dashboard instead of guessing.

A realistic week

Say you're on STEM OPT with eight months left. You sign up on Monday with your resume, two job titles and sponsors first. By that night Salvo has started applying, sponsors at the top. By Friday you have a list of receipts, each with the resume that went out. A few employers write back. You open the first interview request, go through the prep for that company and book the call.

Not every application gets an answer. That's true of every search, by hand or not. What changes is how many chances you get in the time you have left on your status.

Frequently asked questions

How does Salvo know which employers sponsor?

It checks each employer against public USCIS H-1B employer data. More than 129,000 employers have at least one H-1B approval there since 2019. Jobs at those employers show a Sponsors visas badge on your dashboard.

Can it apply only to employers that sponsor?

Yes. On your dashboard pick Only employers that sponsor. Or pick Show sponsors first, and Salvo still applies elsewhere after the sponsors.

Does Salvo lie about my visa status?

No. You answer two questions at signup: are you allowed to work in the US, and do you need sponsorship now or later. Salvo gives those answers on every form and never guesses them.

Which visas does this help with?

People on OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B transfers, TN and E-3 use it. You can tell Salvo your visa type in your profile.

Is it free?

Free to start with no card. Free applying pauses after your second interview request. Turbo keeps it going and adds first in line on new posts, full interview prep, a mock interview and a follow-up email.
