Effective August 16, 2026. Updated November 5, 2026 (LinkedIn extension).
What we collect
Salvo collects the client's name, email address, phone number, resume contents, target roles, job-search preferences, application records, and employer responses sent to the dedicated search address. Payment details are handled by Stripe. Salvo never receives or stores full card numbers.
Site measurement and referrals
The site uses first-party event logging to record page views, referral source, campaign tags, signup steps, coarse device class, artifact views, downloads, posting clicks, and anonymous performance or error signals. When a partner link brings someone to Salvo, we keep the first eligible referral for up to 90 days while that person decides whether to register. If the person registers during that period, the referral remains connected to that Salvo account so the partner can be paid correctly. A later link does not replace it.
Microsoft Clarity may provide privacy-filtered session recordings, heatmaps, and interaction diagnostics. Google tag and Meta Pixel may record page and conversion events for measurement and future retargeting. When you submit a free example, Salvo may normalize your email address and send only its one-way SHA-256 hash to Google Ads for enhanced conversion measurement and attribution. Google receives the hash, not your resume, phone number, uploaded file, or the text you entered. Google Search Console verifies site ownership and reports aggregate search performance.
These tools and referral records are not sent resume contents, full card details, or uploaded files. Partners do not receive subscriber names, resumes, payment details, or private account activity from Salvo. Tracker identifiers load only when their production IDs are configured.
Sign-up answers saved as you type
On the sign-up forms we save the answers you type, field by field, before you press the final button. We use them so you can pick up where you left off, to see which steps people stop at, and to send you one reminder email if you stop partway (with a link that stops it). We never save passwords or card numbers, and we keep your resume file only once you finish. You can delete what you typed with the button under the form, or by emailing hello@sendsalvo.com.
The Salvo ChatGPT app
If you use the Salvo app inside ChatGPT, the resume text and job description or public job link you give it are processed in memory to produce a match score, a list of missing keywords and a tailored title and bullets preview. That text is sent to our AI tailoring service to write the preview, is not written to disk or to logs, and is not stored. The only thing kept is a daily usage counter made from a salted one-way hash of your network address, used to limit abuse. Salvo does not receive your ChatGPT account, name or email through the app. If you follow the link to turn on Salvo autopilot, the page records that you came from the ChatGPT app (ref=chatgpt_app) as a referral source, and the rest of this policy applies once you sign up.
Why we collect it
We use contact details to identify the client and communicate. We use resume contents and target roles to rebuild resumes, select postings, and submit accurate applications. We keep application records and employer responses to document work, identify qualifying interview invitations, and answer billing questions. Traffic data is used to measure whether the site and signup process work.
Automation and AI assistance
Salvo uses automated and AI-assisted tools to read resumes, compare them with job postings, draft tailored application materials, and prepare applications. These tools process resume and job-search information only to provide the service. Salvo does not use client resumes to train AI models. A human confirms every billable interview before any charge.
Who receives it
Stripe receives payment and billing information. Employers and their applicant-tracking systems receive the information needed for each approved application. Domain, mail-routing, storage, analytics, and transactional-email providers receive only the information needed to perform their part of the service.
We never sell personal information. We never use client resumes to train an AI system.
Security
Resumes are stored in private per-client object storage and the isolated client runner's per-client workspace. Application ledgers and evidence files are access-controlled and available only to the owner and the dedicated service process. Payment details go directly to Stripe and never touch Salvo's systems.
Retention and dispute evidence
Salvo normally keeps client resumes and ordinary working files for 90 days after the service ends. Application-submission screenshots, SHA-256 file hashes, forwarded employer mail, billing records, and related audit entries may be retained beyond 90 days for the period needed to answer payment disputes, chargebacks, fraud claims, tax duties, and legal obligations.
Those limited evidence records may survive a deletion request. They are deleted when the applicable dispute and recordkeeping periods expire.
Deletion requests
Email hello@sendsalvo.com to request a copy or deletion of your information. We will confirm the request and remove information that is not required for billing, tax, fraud prevention, or legal records.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, active clients will be notified by email. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
The Salvo for LinkedIn Chrome extension
If you add the Salvo for LinkedIn extension to Chrome, it works in one LinkedIn tab in your own browser, using your own LinkedIn sign-in. It finds recruiters and hiring managers at the jobs Salvo applied to for you and sends them connect requests and messages from your LinkedIn account, inside daily and weekly limits. Before it does anything, it shows you what it does and what it sends, and you choose if it asks before each send or sends by itself. You can change that choice any time from the toolbar icon.
What it sends to Salvo:
- People it finds in LinkedIn search: name, profile link, job title line, connection level and the short text on their search result. These are other people's details. Salvo keeps only the people it picks. The rest are removed as soon as the pick is made.
- What happened with each person: if your request or message went out, if they accepted, and if they wrote back.
- The newest message preview, up to 200 characters, from people Salvo already messaged for you. Your other LinkedIn conversations stay in your browser and never reach Salvo.
- The extension version, the last time it checked in, your ask-first choice, the date you agreed, and if LinkedIn asked you to sign in or check something.
What it never collects:
- Your LinkedIn password, your cookies or your LinkedIn email address.
- Anything from a website other than linkedin.com and sendsalvo.com, or your browsing history.
Salvo sends the extension the search words, names and links of the people to contact, and the note or message to send. Salvo writes these from your resume and the job you applied to. In your browser the extension stores a private key that links it to your Salvo account, its settings, a daily count and anything waiting for your press. Salvo keeps only a scrambled copy of that key. Everything travels over HTTPS.
We use this data only to run this feature: to pick the next person, to avoid contacting anyone twice, and to show you the list on your dashboard. We never sell it, never use it for advertising or to decide credit or lending, never give it to data brokers, and never send it to an AI service. The only outside companies that handle it are the hosts that run Salvo's servers. When staff open your account, they see counts and companies, with names, links and replies hidden. Staff look at the stored data itself only if you ask us to, to protect security, or when the law requires it.
Salvo keeps your list of people while your account is open, so nobody gets contacted twice. Working logs are removed after 90 days. Use Unlink on your dashboard to disconnect the extension. Use Delete my data to remove the list: the extension stops at once and the data is gone within 30 days. Removing the extension from Chrome clears what it stored in your browser. If you were contacted through this feature and want your details removed, email hello@sendsalvo.com.
Salvo's use of information received through the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. LinkedIn's rules do not allow automated software, and LinkedIn can limit or ban an account that uses them. Salvo is not part of LinkedIn, and LinkedIn does not endorse it.
Text messages
If you tick the box next to your phone number, Salvo texts you when an employer wants to interview you. Up to 3 texts a day. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Our text provider, Twilio, sends the texts and gets only your number and the message. The box is never ticked for you, and signing up never needs it.
We never share or sell your phone number for marketing. Text STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Questions: hello@sendsalvo.com.
